Luke 12:6-7 AMP Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And [yet] not one of them is forgotten or uncared for in the presence of God. But [even] the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be struck with fear or seized with alarm; you are of greater worth than many [flocks] of sparrows.
Matthew 10:29-31 AMP Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s leave (consent) and notice. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, then; you are of more value than many sparrows.
There are so many unanswered questions in this life. So many things we cannot possibly understand. Our lives seem to go from one thing to another and at times can feel that everything is spinning out of control. Life may have taken an unexpected turn and all of the certainties have turned into uncertainties. What was known is now unknown. Questions loom and answers seem out of reach.
Oh how God cares for you! His love for you is expansive. God’s Word talks about His care and concern for even the smallest of creatures, the sparrow. God sees the sparrows, knowing what happens to each and every one of them. He remembers them and cares for them. He gives them His attention.
If God cares for the sparrows, think of the value He has for us! We are His children. He is our Abba, our Father. The Word says God knows the number of hairs on our head. Let’s think about that for a moment. Think of all the people in all the world; young and old. God knows the number of hairs on every head of every person on this planet.
“Do not be struck with fear or seized with alarm.” “Fear not”. God sees every sparrow and knows their comings and goings. He knows the hair count of planet earth! Do you not think He knows where you are? Do you think He can’t see you? Have you convinced yourself that God doesn’t care?
God sees every tear. He feels every pain. He knows every thought. His love for you is vast.
Ephesians 3:18-19 ERB “And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide, how long, how high, and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you.”
