Not to Harp…But…Okay, I’m Harping…

I know I talk about this frequently. BUT–here it goes–AGAIN.

Christians, please please watch your mouths. Pastors, Ministers, Teachers of the Word, be especially careful! I just witnessed a pastor name-calling and belittling another person, he then threw out terrible insults. Words. He. Can. Never. Take. Back. (actually, I’m not sure he wants to take them back.)

James 3:9-10 The Voice. “Ironically this same tongue can be both an instrument of blessing to our Lord and Father and a weapon that hurls curses upon others who are created in God’s own image. One mouth streams forth both blessings and curses. My brothers and sisters, this is not how it should be.”

Do you see what this is saying? When we are cursing others, we are cursing the LIKENESS OF GOD! That reaches deep inside of me! How it must grieve God when we mistreat one another with our words.

James 3:5 “…A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it!”

Something to think about.
