Knowledge vs Wisdom

Good Monday Morning! We must MAKE it a great day. Yes?

James 3:17 (AMP)
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).

In an age of technology, we have “knowledge” at our fingertips. However, knowledge is nothing without wisdom. We can find quotes from Presidents, authors, generals, celebrities…and perhaps they hold some value. True wisdom, eternal wisdom, always comes from the One who created us.

“But the wisdom from ABOVE” is pure, peace-loving, courteous, reasonable, compassionate…free from doubt, unwavering, sincere…

I want THAT kind of wisdom, don’t you?

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  1. Hi Lisa. I too, want that kind of wisdom. I’ve also realized that it can’t come without asking:

5 If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [a]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.
    James 1:5

After all, in this decaying world, how can anyone get that kind of wisdom except from the One Who can give it?

  2. I, too want that kind of wisdom. The only thing is that it has to be asked for:

5 If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [a]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.
    James 1:5

After all, how can the world off that kind of wisdom when it can only be found with and in the One Who gives it?
